An optical fibre connection to the Internet is out of the price range of most small to medium sized businesses. That's where SkyMesh Business Grade Ethernet is the ideal solution.

Business Grade Ethernet is a symmetrical service, meaning your upload speed is as fast as your download speed. That makes it ideal for in-house web services, video conferencing, VoIP, secure off site data backups and Virtual Private Network connections between branch offices and head office.

Currently available with speeds of 5/5 Mbps and 10/10 Mbps, Business Grade Ethernet is supplied as an uncontended service, which means that capacity is yours exclusively. You'll get your nominated Plan speed, even in peak times - that's guaranteed. Our 5/5 Mbps services can be upgraded to 10/10 Mbps at short notice without requiring a hardware change.

If your business uses a lot of Internet data, you'll find Plans with monthly data allowances from 50 GB to 500 GB, as well as unlimited data allowances.

EFM Technology

SkyMesh Business Grade Ethernet services use Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) technology which is defined by IEEE Std 802.3™-2008. Multiple Unconditioned Local Loop Services, each providing a bit rate of between 2 Mbps and 5.7 Mbps, are aggregated and delivered to you as an Ethernet port.

Business Grade Ethernet is a highly resilient service and comes with a 99.9% Service Level Agreement. If a copper pair between your premises and the local telephone exchange is damaged, the service will continue with a reduced capacity while the cable fault is found and repaired.

Customer Network Pre-Requisites

Business Grade Ethernet is delivered to the network boundary point which is defined as the Network Termination Unit (NTU). Cabling and support beyond that point is the customer's responsibility. A suitable router is required to connect to the NTU. SkyMesh can supply, configure and remotely support a Cisco router to suit your business.

SkyMesh Network

SkyMesh has a robust, high-capacity network with a presence in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, providing full redundancy in equipment and routes. Internet access is provided over a multi-homed international and domestic network based on a combination of Tier 1 providers and peering partners.

Our core network and links to upstream bandwidth providers are proactively monitored 24x7 by our Brisbane Network Operations Centre to safeguard the quality of your service. We carefully provision our bandwidth to ensure our business customers get the bandwidth they require when they require it.

Business customers receive automated notifications of issues with the health of their service. Customers have full access to our My SkyMesh customer portal for up-to-date data usage, billing information, contact management and historical activity charts.
